Pregnancy Programs

Healthy and fit pregnant women and new mothers means healthy and happy babies and families!

Bodynasium offeres safe, fit, fun, and informative fitness programs. We offer programs like pregnancy aquafit, pregnancy yoga, specialise strollHERFIT in the park, yoga for new mothers and babies and pre/postnatal pilates!

Expecting twins? Your doctor has put you on bed rest? Want to get back to your pre-pregnancy shape and weight? Want to improve your energy level, muscle tone, flexibility and strength?

We will design a unique fitness/yoga/pilates program to meet your specific needs and fitness objectives during your pregnancy or postpartum period. Personal training sessions are scheduled at your convenience and in any location (home, office, gym).

A pregnant woman owes it to herself to prepare her body for the challenges of pregnancy, labour and birth by exercising. Studies and research show that the benefits of exercising during pregnancy include limited weight gain, less physical discomfort, more energy, easier, shorter, and a less complicated labour. A fitness program will help a pregnant woman maintain or improve her fitness level and avoid varicose veins, low-back pain, gestational diabetes and pregnancy-related high blood pressure.

After the birth a new mother owes it to herself to begin exercising as soon as she feels ready. Studies and research show the benefits of exercising in the postpartum period include increased energy level, muscle tone, flexibility and strength, improved cardiovascular, respiratory and circulatory systems, lower percentage of body fat, faster recovery and faster return to pre-pregnancy weight.

The true measure of success of your commitment to an individualized fitness training program is the profound changes, improvements and benefits you will experience.

Pregnancy Fitness Classes:
All sessions consist of a 30-minute prenatal discussion followed by a 45-60 minute workout.

Cardio fit bellies:
Low impact aerobics, stretch & strength, muscle endurance.

Cardio aqua bellies:
Aerobic workout in the pool - water resistance & buoyancy strengthens pregnant bodies, improves circulation, massages & relaxes working muscles.

Yoga/Pilates bellies:
Yoga breathing & postures strengthen muscles, improves flexibility, relieves tension in joints, increases energy, reduces stress.
Strengthens abdominal muscles, increases circulation, develops muscle strength, increases flexibilty, improves balance and coordination, helps with relaxation and teaches deep breathing techniques.

StrollHERFIT:
Not just a walk in the park! A 60/90-minute StrollHERFIT session, new moms with their babies will participate in a series of exercises focusing on stretch and strength, muscle endurance, low impact aerobics while 'on the move' through the park. Stopping at picnic tables moms do push ups, leg lifts, abdominal work & cool down stretches. Session concludes with a 10-minute discussion segment featuring up-to-the-minute information about consumer issues related to the postpartum period.
